Support provided during the year of 2008 by KHPP:
Holiday decorations (illuminations) of the Town Hall and Unity Squares, Laisvės Avenue, Vilniaus and Daukanto Streets, pedestrian bridge to the island, Karaliaus Mindaugo Avenue and Savanorių Avenue. Decoration of Kaunas received 284 thousand LTL from Kaunas Heat and Power Plant.
In summer 2008 the Lithuanian Wheelchair Basketball Team represented Lithuania in Switzerland in the European Championship Division B. In autumn sportsmen from the track-and-field, swimming and women’s seated volley-ball teams represented Lithuania at the Paralympic Games, held in Beijing, China. Support was provided for the achievement of better sports results.
Three sportsmen of this club, i.e.: the shot-putter and discus-thrower Rolandas Urbonas, the pentathlete Tomas Kairys and marathon-runner Kęstutis Bartkėnas participated in the Paraolympic Games of Peking (China) 2008. The support was meant for preparation for the Games, i.e. financing of training camps for disabled sportsmen, as well as purchase of food additives and sport clothes.
The veterans of Lithuanian basketball have been participating for already 19 years in various championships of world and Europe and are stable winners there. The allotted funds for the club enabled their participation in the Fifth Europe Championship of Basketball Veterans in Italy.

The club LAISVĖ is three-time champion of the Lithuanian League and two-time champion of the Baltic League. Three players became the champions of Europe together with the Lithuanian elite team. The support allotted to the club is meant for its participation in the championships of the European and Baltic leagues. The women-basketballers enjoyed the trainings of quality and received the equipment required.
The Kaunas Handball Club GRANITAS - KARYS gained access to the main stage of the European Champions League 2008-2009 and will contest with the champions of Sweden, Slovenia and France. The support is meant for better preparation for this international contest.
The enterprise was established for improvement of physical health of powermen and members of their families and for popularization of tennis. The enterprise is going to take part in the international tournaments for amateur tennis-players and to arrange tournaments of tennis and other sport branches for the Lithuanian powermen.

Culture Centre organizes festivals, conferences, exhibitions, concerts, poetry evenings, meetings with the artists from Kaunas and Lithuania. Moreover, it prepares educational programmes to socially disadvantaged children from Kaunas Aleksandr Puskin School and orphans from the Care Home “Saulutė”. The aim of these events is to help to better acquaint oneself with the Russian culture, history and traditions.
At the end of 2008 Russian Drama Theatre of Lithuania had an opening night performance “Life – Life”. The theatre received support to cover the remaining performance staging expenses.
In Klaipėda there was commemorated the date of foundation of the Lithuanian Sąjūdis (public movement). Thank to the allotted support, the legend pop group ANTIS was invited to the concert. The aim of the concert was to summon people‘s recollections of the singing revolution, which took place before 20 years.
An exclusive concert was arranged in the Vilnius Congress Palace. To Lithuania arrived one of the most famous symphonic orchestras of Russia, namely the Eugenij Svetlanov Symphonic Orchestra and the legend pianist Denis Macuiev.
The fund has been organizing for three years the cycle of educational and artistic events „Active Civil Support for Preservation of National Heritage“. The support was meant for the performance „Sonata of Nostalgia“, which took place in the Raudonė castle.
The association takes care of integration of Russian culture into the cultural space of Lithuania and Europe, as well as of preservation and propagation of Russian culture and traditions in Lithuania, including studying, cherishing and developing folk culture of Russian-speaking people in Lithuania.
The support was allotted for arrangement of KAUNAS CITY DAYS-2008.
