Trip to the Nobel Museum to the Most Advanced Class

2009-03-19

First time in Lithuania the elections of the most advanced class will be held. Competition “Most Advanced Class”, during which the schoolchildren are prompted for maximum improvement of their study results, will be launched in Kaunas. Started this week, the project is open for all the comprehensive schools of Kaunas.

“Our activity is based on the most advanced and modern ideas and constant search of innovative solutions. We have decided to promote the idea of progress also in the schools of Kaunas; therefore, we are announcing a competition to encourage the schoolchildren pursuing higher study results”, states Antanas Pranculis, the Director General of Kaunas Heat and Power Plant (KHPP), which is the project initiator.

Project “Most Advanced Class” is meant for the 5th to 11th graders from the comprehensive schools of Kaunas. The winner of the competition will be the class that would demonstrate the highest improvement of its study results over the current trimester/semester as compared to the previous one. Project winners will be granted awards in July.

“Generation of heat and electric power is the team work. We are sure that team work would lead to the achievement of highest results and greatest victories. This project will also prove this, affirmed Mr Pranculis. Victory of the competition “Most Advanced Class” is most possibly likely to go to the class that will work jointly; instead of putting efforts in individual work it will also help its classmates. The winning will be predetermined by the overall result of the whole class.”

The winning class will be awarded the progress-symbolizing prize, namely the trip to the Swedish capital, including the visit to the Nobel Museum. Situated in the heart of Stockholm, the museum illustrates exceptional achievements of 20th century to have made most prominent effect on the scientific and public development.
