Compliments to the Most Advanced Class from a Descendant of Alfred Nobel

Trip to the whole class to the Nobel Museum in Stockholm was the progress-symbolising prize awarded to the most advanced class elected for the first time in Lithuania. From more than a hundred of classes, who took part in the competition, the greatest progress was demonstrated by the 7th graders of Kaunas Petras Vileišis Secondary School.

 
Winners of the competition “Most Advanced Class” received also personal congratulations from the Prof Dr Michael Nobel, a descendant of the Nobel Prize founder Alfred Nobel, who had recently been on a visit to Lithuania.
 
“I am sending my kindest greetings and greatest congratulations to the winners of the competition. This is a competition that unites for a general objective, i.e. progress. Only when we try to surpass ourselves we are able to achieve best results”, said Prof Dr Michael Nobel.
 
Competition “Most Advanced Class”, which aimed at encouraging the schoolchildren for maximum improvement of their study results, was initiated by Kaunas Heat and Power Plant (KHPP) and KAUNO ELEKTRINĖ (KE).
 
The class to have demonstrated the highest improvement of its study results was awarded by competition initiators with a voyage to Sweden. The second and third place winners were awarded as well; every schoolchild received a book gift voucher of 50 LTL.
 
“The most advanced class was presented the prize symbolising progress, namely a trip to the Nobel Museum, where the schoolchildren will get acquainted with exceptional achievements of the 20th century, which brought enormous effect on the development of science and society. Winners of the competition have already proved that they are able to achieve a lot. I wish that the prize would inspire them for even more superb goals” spoke Antanas Pranculis, the Director General of KHPP, while presenting the prize.
 
Competition “Most Advanced Class” was meant for the 5th to 11th graders from the comprehensive schools of Kaunas. Trip to Sweden went to the class that had demonstrated the highest improvement of its study results over semester/ trimester of the finishing school year as compared to the previous one.
 
The winner of the competition is the 7a class (1st place) from Kaunas Petras Vileišis Secondary School, 2nd place went to the 8b class from Kaunas Martynas Mažvydas Secondary School and the 3rd place to the 8b class from Kaunas Stasys Lozoraitis Secondary School.
