The schoolchildren, who have finished the 7a class from Kaunas Petras Vileišis Secondary School, will enjoy their voyage to the Swedish capital Stockholm.
The schoolchildren won the competition, organised by KAUNO ELEKTRINĖ and Kaunas Heat and Power Plant, during which the class that demonstrated the highest improvement of its study results over one semester/ trimester was determined. The competition attracted over 100 classes of Kaunas.
The best progress was demonstrated by the 7a class from Kaunas Petras Vileišis Secondary School, which improved its general average mark from 7.7 to 8.3. Second place went to the 8b class from Martynas Mažvydas Secondary School and the 3rd place to the 8b class from Stasys Lozoraitis Secondary School.
Schoolchildren of these classes received a book gift voucher of 50 LTL.
Representatives of the Ministry of Education said that it had been the first competition of such type to be held in Lithuania.
The winning trip to Sweden by ferry will last three days. The winners will enjoy the tour round Riga, Tallinn and Stockholm. In the Swedish capital children will visit Alfred Nobel’s Museum.
