The Kaunas Heat and Power Plant produces both heat and electric power and refills the heating networks by thermal water. Presently the following equipment for production of heat and water are installed in the power plant:
- three steam-boilers BKZ - 420, with capacity of 420 t / h steam, each (or with nominal heat productivity of 290 MW);
- two steam turbines: PT-60 with hydrogen-cooled generator of 60 MW capacity and pipelines for discharge of thermal steam and industrial steam and T-100 with hydrogen-cooled generator of 110 MW capacity and with pipelines for discharge of thermal steam);
- four water heating boilers PTVM - 100 with efficiency of 100 Gcal / h (or ~ 116 MW), each;
- water heating boiler KVGM-180 with efficiency of 180 Gcal / h (or 209 MW).
